Underrated Atlas

As of 2023, I've visited 47 countries. My hope is to make it to 100 before I kick the bucket.

One thing that becomes obvious the more you travel: it's usually not the capital cities or postcard panoramas that teach you the most about a region. Most major cities and tourist meccas start to blur together.

It's the places further out that show you how local people actually live, eat, shop, work, and learn.

They're the most likely to feel magical.

The list below was originally compiled from the Farcaster community in 2023, and I've added to it since with recs from travel-aficionado friends.
